2012 Jeep Wrangler Tour

In July and August, Jeep sent almost 200 journalists and Jeep dealership owners through Carlton on their way to test drive the new Wrangler.  From around the country and around the world, automotive reporters left Portland driving brand new Jeeps and stopped in Carlton to stretch their legs and look around.  From there they went over the Coastal Range on back roads to put the vehicles through their paces.  The reporters loved both the car and Carlton, so don't be surprised if you see our Great Little Town mentioned in an upcoming review of the 2012 Jeep Wrangler!

CBA-Sponsored Clean Up Carlton Day is a huge success!

On Saturday, May 1, 2010, the CBA, in partnership with the City of Carlton and the non-profit SOLV, sponsored Clean Up Carlton Day.  The City provided dumpsters for trash, electonic waste, yard debris, and scrap metal.  The CBA recruited volunteers to clean up the main entrances into town, to weed the rose garden in the Upper Park, and to clean up and weed around the Welcome to Carlton signs.  Thanks especially to the Boy Scouts and to Carlton Together Cares for supporting this successful event; town looks great!  For more photos, check out the story in the News Register.

Between participants and attendees, seemed like it was the biggest parade yet!  Thanks to Jeremiah Cook and the Fun Days team for putting together such a great parade and day full of wonderful events.   And a special shout-out to those who provided the best-looking convertibles in Carlton to lead the parade!     Photo, near right:  Board members Brooke Russell, Jane Davis and Susan Barksdale begin the day with a morning toast to practicing Parade-waving and hat-balancing skills; photo, far right:  capably driven by Carlton's own postmaster Heidi, Jane waves along Main Street.
